We have an exciting opportunity for a Program/Project Planner to join our Systems Integration Lab (SIL) support team within the Software Engineering group. Under general supervision, this position involves planning and scheduling test events in the labs, developing labor estimates for SIL proposals, and administering ongoing project activities within the SILs.
The primary responsibility of this role is to collaborate with engineering and program management teams planning engineering efforts that will be utilizing our SIL systems and subsystems. The planner ensures the availability of equipment and other resources for assigned programs and projects. Collaborating with other team members, this role involves identifying company and customer requirements and translates them into operational plans related to the systems within the SIL.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops objectives, plans, budget, and schedule as well as oversees and coordinates operational aspects for assigned program/project.
Inspecting inventory and reordering materials and technical components.
Outstanding Program/Project Planners are self-starters with an insatiable curiosity, a superb work ethic, and strong interpersonal skills.
May attend critical design review and program kickoffs with engineering team members.
As they gain experience and knowledge, they take on more engineering support duties.
Handle all tasks assigned by engineering team members, while supporting day-to-day program objectives.
Coordinates with technician leads and engineering to accurately plan asset usage to satisfy lab user requirements and program priorities.
Deconflicts between lab users to ensure program timelines are met, assets are utilized efficiently, and requested schedule time has little to no delay.
Tracks program timelines and lab requirements with Project Engineers and Program Managers to accurately estimate required lab support hours for the program.
Coordinates with International Trade Compliance and Security to arrange foreign person visits and tours in the lab.
Should demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering terminology, and able to work well in a team environment.
Must be able to adapt to rapid changes while remaining calm and flexible in the face of uncertainty and ambiguity.
Participates in labor estimating for SIL team activities supporting proposal teams.
Reviews and monitors program/project status; develops and implements plans to ensure company and/or customer requirements are met.
Serves as a liaison between management, project team and customer; may represent the organization as a primary spokesperson with outside representatives.
Assesses program/project issues and develops resolutions to meet objectives, schedule, budget, workforce or other program/project requirements.
Participates in developing operating policies and procedures.
May provide guidance to administrative or junior staff as required.
Responsible for ensuring all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations are observed wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
Responsible for ensuring work is accomplished in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
Responsible for coordinating with Project Engineers to ensure the lab schedule is accurate and priorities are clear.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor degree in a technical discipline and six or more years of progressive professional experience in program planning, monitoring and scheduling. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Experience as a Maintenance Controller highly desirable.
Must have a general understanding of program planning principles, theories and concepts; general knowledge of industry practices; and experience demonstrating the application of those practices, techniques, and standards.
Must possess the ability to provide leadership in developing and communicating new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule and coordinate multiple work phases; and determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level.
Must be customer focused and possess:

Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills to accurately document and report findings to a variety of audiences
Good interpersonal skills to influence and guide employees, managers, customers and other external parties
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
