Job Description:
Senior Production Planner with strong knowledge of job area and broad knowledge of project management. Manages complex projects or processes with general oversight. Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures. Makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
The Surveillance Solutions (SS) Business Area , located in Van Nuys, California, (in the San Fernando Valley) provides enabling technologies for situational awareness in land, sea and air delivering identification, analysis and precision approach of platforms in the area of interest. Through active radar technologies and passive detection solutions, SS allows for complete battlespace control.
Our Air Traffic Management and Defense Radar enterprise provides Air Defense Radar systems on surface ships and land to provide immediate recognition of everything in view. In our Air Traffic Management enterprise, our radars provide the capability to land aircraft in any situation, including both mobile and fixed sites.
Through our Reconnaissance enterprise, we provide Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) systems. The ESM systems are on surface ships and submarines around the world providing real-time intelligence of all of the active radars in the area, while the ELINT systems provide long-term pattern recognition for coastal and border surveillance of air, sea and land objects.
Essential Functions:
Manage incoming orders / contracts and create production schdules using the Material Rquirements Planning (MRP) platform.
Manage inventory required to meet production schdules.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, government regulations, industry certifications, and health and safety standards.
Manage competing priorities to ensure Key Performance Indicatiors (KPIs) are met.
Coordinate effectively with various teams such as procurement, engineering, manufacturing, program management and contracts.
Ensure data integrity across multiple platforms to support accurate communication and analytics.
Identify and mitigate risks to cost and schedule such as supply chain disruptors.
Work is performed with general oversight. May manage large projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area. Typically responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to other employees. Typically responsible for managing complex projects at this level, involving delegation of work and review of work products.
Communicates within and outside of own function or business area and has responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.) when necessary. Explains, interprets, and gains cooperation on policies, procedures and practices.
Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area. Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering, analysis and investigation to understand the problem. Problems typically involve consideration of multiple issues, job areas or specialties. Problems are generally solved through creative solutions, drawing from prior experience and in-depth analysis of issues.
Works to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results. Contributes to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minmum of 10 years' of prior Production Planning experience.
Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. This is typically based on having a U.S. citizenship and successful completion and disposition of an extensive background check.
Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) / Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.
Experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Good organizational and project management skills; role requires juggling long-term projects, daily tasks, and urgent questions.
Demonstrated high volume production planning experinece in a manufacturing environment, ideally with minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing.
Microsoft Excel experience required (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.); more advanced Excel modeling skills a plus.
Ability to spot process improvement opportunities and influence others to make chage.
Famliarity with Defense and Aerospace industry standards and ITAR regulations and FAR/DFAR regulations.
Continuous Process Improvement / Lean Six Sigma Experience.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $96,000 - $127,700. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
