We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Bulletin Engineering Supervisor in our Engineering Field Support (EFS) Department located in Poway, CA (San Diego, California.)
Under general supervision with limited review, this position will report to the Field Bulletin Manager of the Engineering Field Support (EFS) Department. The Supervisor will be responsible for leading and managing a mixed team of Engineers and UAV Systems Specialists with various experience levels, while ensuring the successful and timely release of Alert and Service Bulletins. This position will be expected to guide the team in research, authoring, reviewing, releasing, tracking, and closing of all bulletins, in accordance with GA company policies, and any additional airworthiness certification requirements for our certified products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and mentor a mixed team of Engineers and UAV Systems Specialist, while providing guidance, support, technical expertise for all sold off GA products and product lines as well as any company owned GA aircraft/equipment.
Oversee the entire lifecycle for all released bulletins, from development, release, sustainment, and closure, once all bulletin actions are satisfied or complete.
Assign tasks, set goals, and track progress to meet bulletin release deadlines while managing a bulletins team, with each working several bulletins in parallel efforts.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of best practices and new technologies.
Complete bids and work scope for all bulletin contract activities across all GA customers and all product lines, taking ownership during the bid, proposal and execution phases with the EFS PM.
Collaborate closely with all customer P&Ls, Flight Ops, Tech Pubs, Design/Project engineering teams to ensure the bulletins review and signature processes has complete coverage by all responsible/required parties.
Recruit, hire, retain, and develop engineers with necessary skill-sets to support bulletin development efforts across all current and emerging product lines and technologies.
Interface with product design teams to provide engineering change recommendations for any field issues/failure modes being communicated via a bulletin that could be mitigated or eradicated from the design via a design change.
Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelors degree, four or more years of experience with a masters degree, or two or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Leadership experience with a track record of successfully managing and developing high performing teams.
Strong technical writing skills - must be able to convey complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner.
In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations and standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Occasional travel to the company flight test facilities is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
Experience working on aircraft and/or GCSs is highly desired.
Experience as an UAV pilot or sensor operator is highly desired.
Must be able to effectively work with multi-disciplined technical and non-technical staff.
