GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Surveyor is responsible for ensuring precise and accurate surveying throughout the construction process. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the construction team in quality control and filed management, ensuring the utmost quality in all executed work. The Construction Surveyor must possess strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and adhere to AIS Infrastructure's safety standards and protocols.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide construction layout from line and grade control as established by the licensed surveyor. This includes pipe & utility line and grade, earthwork cut and fill, road and curb lines and grade and maintaining as-built survey.
Survey the existing conditions of the future work site to prevent conflicts with utility lines such as drainage pipes, electrical ducts, etc.
Provide as-build surveying and verify that work was completed in accordance with specifications and codes
Coordinate with superintendent, foreman, and licensed surveyor to align surveying activities to meet the construction requirements.
Prepare documentation of surveying activities.
Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access secured facilities, including military bases.
High school diploma or equivalent. Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with construction surveying using Trimble GPS Systems is typically required to be successful in this role.
Proficiency in Trimble GPS software and data processing tools.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to use all surveying equipment & techniques essential
Ability to accurately read blueprints and calculate shapes (geometric, etc.) also required.
Strong knowledge of GPS surveying techniques and principles.
Familiarity with aerial surveying, photogrammetry, and LiDAR technology.
Ability to interpret and analyze survey data and maps.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
