Tuknik Government Services currently has an opening for a Security Classification Guide Specialist for the Department of Defense Office of the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAO). The position requires an experienced Security Classification Guide Specialist to assist in the development and maintenance of emerging technology security classification guides and implementing existing program critical information protection plans. Qualified candidates possess proficiency in information security policy and systems technology processes to draft this critical documentation in a manner compliant with DoD information security regulations.
Responsibilities:
Develop first-person, systems-level understanding of the critical capabilities that CDAO sponsors or develops to accelerate the adoption of data, analytics, and AI methodologies across the Department through literature review and cross-functional collaboration.
Draft Security Classification Guides (SCGs) in accordance with DoD Manual 5200.01 Volume 1: DoD Information Security Program Overview and DoD Manual 5200.45 Instructions for Developing Security Classification Guides.
Participate in CDAO and DoD program and project planning efforts to evaluate the need for security requirements.
Routinely coordinate with the Office of Undersecretary of Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)) Security Classification Office.
Prepare SCG staff packages for routing and approval.
Facilitate a standardized and efficient classification management program at the Unclassified, Controlled, SECRET, compartmented, and as assigned Special Access Program level.
Review classification guidance generated for new or ongoing programs to ensure that specific and correct guidance is available to users.
Interpret or develop general policy direction for application on an organization-wide basis and conduct oversight reviews on the effectiveness of classification management programs and policies for assigned projects/programs.
Develop and implement guidelines to meet DoD regulations.
As required, review intelligence and counterintelligence reports, assess security vulnerabilities, and design security program planning, implementation, evaluation, and modification efforts.
Participate in Program Protection Plan working groups.
Use initiative in independently carrying out assignments and facilitating coordination across CDAO and CDAO Public Affairs.
Exhibit technical judgement and make extensive unreviewed recommendations.
Requirements:
US Citizen
BS degree in engineering, computer science, data science required.
5 years' experience as a staff officer within Service Component and Joint / Combatant Command Staff Structures (J-2/3/4/5/6), experience must include derivative document classification.
2 years of security classification guide development experience with at least one year being technology or program security guide development.
Excellent and proven ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively with customer/sponsor stakeholders in government and industry.
Outstanding organizational skills, team-oriented mindset and ability to work successfully in a fast-paced, diverse, and virtual team environments.
Experience with DoD security directives supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) or Special Access Programs.
Desired Skills:
Broad understanding of the pacing threats posed from principal adversaries as it relates to Great Power Competition in AI, Data and Analytics.
Ability to rapidly understand and apply new concepts.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
Advanced MS Word skills; proficient PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook application skills.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Security Pre-Requisite:
To be considered, you must have a CURRENT/ACTIVE SECRET-level security clearance.
