SME Functional Lead - Data Science
Position Summary
The SME Functional Lead for the Data Science Branch (HDNGE) will lead the development and delivery of training programs focused on data science concepts, methodology, and applications. This role emphasizes training in computational thinking, programming, statistics, and data visualization. The SME will guide NGA and Intelligence Community (IC) personnel in building critical data skills necessary for thriving in a data-centric environment. Additionally, the SME will oversee course design and delivery for instructor-led and mobile training programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and instruction of courses in data science, including computational thinking, data analysis, statistics, programming, and data visualization.
Provide expert-level training in machine learning, data modeling, and advanced algorithmic techniques such as deep learning and neural networks.
Manage Mobile Training Teams (MTTs) to deliver data science education globally, including NGA facilities and remote training locations.
Guide the development of training programs to enhance the workforce's ability to leverage data science and AI/ML tools in decision-making processes.
Collaborate with government stakeholders to ensure alignment between data science curriculum and mission needs.
Maintain travel forecasts, manage logistics, and provide status updates on expenditures during monthly PMR meetings with the government.
Ensure course content stays current with emerging data science trends, tools, and methodologies.
Minimum Qualifications
Current TS/SCI Clearance
Counterintelligence Polygraph (Preferred)
National Geospatial-Intelligence College (NGC) Instructor Certification (Preferred)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in data science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in data science, including data manipulation, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL and data science tools.
Expertise in machine learning algorithms, deep learning models, and AI tools.
Experience developing and delivering data science training programs, particularly within NGA, DoD, or the Intelligence Community.
