Responsibilities You will review and evaluate reports of investigations, personnel files, and other records and provide recommendations to the Activity Security Manager. You will make suitability and security eligibility recommendations to the Activity Security Manager based on DON and DOD instructions. You will ensure security clearance questionnaires are complete and accurate prior to submission to Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and Vetting Services (AVS). You will conduct pre-screening interviews with pending applicants and current employees in order to resolve questions concerning derogatory information developed during personnel security investigations. You will ensure all assigned personnel security clearances under purview are accurately maintained within scope. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or NO-3 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Serving as a technical specialist on personnel security matters to include processing of new applicant personnel security investigations, continuous vetting (CV), implementing the continuous evaluation program, and reporting of derogatory/adverse information. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education You may qualify for this position with the following education OR with a combination of experience and education. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D or equivalent degree OR LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
