Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located on historic Fort Liberty in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fort Liberty is the home of the national premiere Special Operations and Airborne Forces. Responsibilities Serves as a Command Senior Intelligence Analyst and Embassy Liaison Officer (LNO) responsible for detailed intelligence analysis of regional or transnational threats. Responsible for solving difficult and complex analytical problems through intelligence research, analysis, evaluation, and coordination. Perform liaison duties within a regional area of responsibility of as many as 45 nation states or for tracking transnational threats to US national security interests. Responsible for maintaining a key understanding of the inner workings of the Intelligence Community (IC) in order to serve as a subject matter expert on interagency coordination and planning. Influences matters of coordination, Special Operations Forces (SOF) plans, policy, and strategy as they relate to the synchronization of interagency efforts and plans. Assesses, collects, assembles, validates, and evaluates complex and conflicting input from the interagency community and multi-discipline reporting to develop authoritative assessments, briefings, and analytic papers. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
