Configuration Management Specialist for NRO Satellite program office
KBR is seeking a highly motivated configuration management specialist to support the NRO's SIGINT Directorate. The SIGINT directorate is looking to address future intelligence collection challenges with innovative solutions. The successful candidate understands the mission needs to overcome development and operations limitations of current systems and can guide revolutionary change in how the NRO conducts its mission.
Duties:
Manage configuration baseline by overseeing the configuration control boards, engineering review boards, technical review boards, and other control mechanisms.
Institute rigorous control processes to document baseline configurations and manage process to implement architectural and process changes.
Prepare deviations, waivers, and requests for change (RFCs) for government approval when specifications cannot be met.
Manage coordination and approval of development contractor and SETA contractor CDRLs.
May structure and maintain databases
Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintains records and submit reports regarding status.
Prepares configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs
Coordinate review schedules and timelines with Government customer.
Minimum Qualifications:
Have technical and analytic capabilities in systems engineering focused on baseline control
BS degree.
Experience with the JSMART tool suite
3-5 years' experience with space systems acquisition and / or sustainment.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-starter who can partner with multiple teammates.
Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering discipline or systems engineering.
5-10 years' experience with space systems acquisition and /or sustainment.
Understanding of acquisition and operations technology best practices.
Exposure to the system design trade process, assessing system design options, analyzing mission requirements, monitoring vehicle development, test development/execution, and tracking requirement verification.
Specific knowledge of the NRO space and ground systems and processes.
