Seeking faculty for:
Reading Specialist Program (all classes taught remotely):
· EDUC 6491 - Culturally Responsive Children's Literature
· EDUC 6609 - Supervised Practicum in Reading
· EDUC 6763 - Theoretical Foundations of Literacy
· EDUC 6766 - Literacy, Language, and Culture
Required Qualifications:
An earned Master's in Education
Teaching experience in culturally and linguistically diverse and inclusive P-12 schools
Commitment to working with diverse students in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school settings
experience teaching online synchronous classes at the graduate level
deep knowledge of language and literacy acquisition, including the challenges and obstacles that certain children may encounter to develop proficient literacy and language abilities.
knowledge, understanding, and experience teaching structured literacy methods
knowledge of and experience with literacy assessments to prevent and remediate literacy difficulties
knowledge of leadership theory and action research
ability to mentor and support reading specialist candidates, including supervising candidates' instruction of struggling readers
experience as a literacy coach (optional)
