ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking an onsite Laboratory Operations Supervisor to help oversee our MSAT Cell Biology team in Manassas, VA. The MSAT Cell Biology team focuses on tech transfer, new accessioning, training, and troubleshooting for manufacturing and quality control. Our ideal candidate will have prior lead or supervisory experience, expertise in cell culture, and prior manufacturing experience.
As a Supervisor of Laboratory Operations, you'll oversee daily activities of functional units within our laboratories, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to schedules. Utilize your expertise in scientific and technical aspects to train and provide direction to laboratory staff, resolve problems, and mitigate risks. Additionally, you'll play a key role in vendor negotiations, implementing new laboratory services, and providing valuable input to support decision-making processes. Responsibilities
Laboratory Management and SOP Development: Direct and coordinate laboratory staff, manage inventory, and oversee cost control, waste reduction, quality, and safety. Attend and lead staff meetings, and create, develop, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and protocols. Ensure effective operation of laboratory equipment.
Study Design & Technology Transfer: Oversee study design for new equipment, products, and processes. Facilitate technology transfer for internal and external stakeholders.
Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance: Ensure test methodologies meet quality standards and regulatory requirements, troubleshoot out-of-specification results, and provide technical input for internal and external stakeholder. Develop and evaluate new assays, review custom product requests, and compile data for key performance indicators (KPIs) metrics and reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience or equivalent.
Previouscell culture experience (adherent, suspension, and/or aggregate).
Previous experience withprocess development, process scale up, technology transfer and manufacturing.
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to direct and coordinate staff, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
