The Opportunity:
The Geospatial Data Scientist supporting the SAFFIRE program will work in collaboration to enhance the analysis system by leveraging GOTS/COTS/FOSS capabilities. As part of the Mission Operations team, you will collaborate on the integration of capabilities from different systems to meet the mission needs of analysts. This allows for a start to finish programmatic expertise to solve mission needs with rapid feedback from customers. We live and breathe the mission right along-side our users.
Responsibilities:
Develop solutions that will connect systems to mission solutions using coding and modeling to create efficient results.
Integrate capabilities from different systems to meet the mission needs.
Receive direct interaction and feedback from customers and have a close connection to the developers of our software.
Collaborate with analysts to translate analytical requirements into software enhancements effectively.
Leverage Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy for data analysis and modeling tasks.
Integrate data processing and visualization techniques to translate analytical requirements into software enhancements.
Utilize rapid prototyping methodologies in an Agile environment to iterate on analytical solutions.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree
5 or more years of experience as a data scientist or analytic methodologist (data analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance) AND/OR 5+ years of experience in GEOINT (or similar) analysis
3 or more years of Experience with working with GIS data, systems, and services.
Demonstrated proficiency in Python coding and modeling, with a strong understanding of data science principles and techniques.
3 or more years of experience in leveraging Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy for data analysis and modeling tasks.
Proven track record of collaborating with analysts on mission-critical projects within Government agencies, demonstrating the ability to translate analytical requirements into software enhancements effectively.
Ability to integrate advanced knowledge of computer capabilities, including data processing and visualization techniques, with subject matter expertise to develop innovative solutions tailored to mission objectives.
Proficiency in utilizing rapid prototyping methodologies and Agile-based software development practices to iterate quickly on analytical solutions, ensuring alignment with evolving mission requirements.
Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative analytical solutions to address complex mission challenges, showcasing the ability to think creatively and apply advanced analytical techniques to real-world problems.
Strong research and development background, with a track record of successfully advancing ideas from concept to production systems.
Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive the progression of analytical solutions from research to operational deployment.
Current and active Top Secret/SCI with the ability to obtain or maintain a polygraph.
Desired:
Experience with Intelligence Analysis or experience as a previous NGA Analyst supporting mission requirements.
An understanding of imagery and data collection over imagery
Demonstrated experience using analytic modeling and python technologies to develop enterprise systems.
Understanding of machine learning concepts
Experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to mission problems.
Demonstrated experience writing or contributing to end user instructions or manuals.
Understanding of web application development concepts
Demonstrated experience integrating multiple applications.
Demonstrated experience using workflow charts and diagrams.
Demonstrated experience building scalable solutions to mission problems.
Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and software CM processes / tools (Subversion, GIT, JIRA, Confluence)

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$74,600-$156,700
