SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F3900 2024-21353):
Bowhead seeks a Senior Engineering Technician to join our team in supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. The engineering technician performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for the planning, conducting and completion of projectsof relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more
diverse projects.The technician has some familiarity withpower systems testing/test equipment and/or PCB fabrication and testing.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
The Senior Technician may train and be assisted by lower level technicians, andperforms one or a combination of the following:
Constructing components, subunits or models and adapting equipment to be used to JXM Missle Battery Testing.
Constructing and packaging devices according to specific layouts and diagrams provided.
Conducting various tests on machines and parts as well as measuring, preparing, operating and recording test data.
Creating presentations of data from field notes, manuals, lab reports and ensuring errors are identified and feasible recommendations are presented.
Assisting in design modification after failures and modifications are identified and addressed.
Provide battery and battery systems test support for lithium battery testing, provide technical support for the revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and any associated supplemental documentation worksheet and test plans.
Provide battery and charger test support for battery testing requirements.
Report data, results and analysis to project representatives for Ni-Cd, Lead Acid, Lithium batteries, battery system, battery chargers and test equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electronics with a minimum of ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
Ten plus (10+) years of DoD experience preferred.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the secret level. Applicants who currently hold a secret clearance are encourage to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
