KBR's Defense Systems Engineering Division is seeking a Spy Radar/IFF Electronic Technician to join our team in Wallops Island, VA. This team supports various NAVSEA and Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) missions and projects performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). By joining our team, you'll enhance US warfighting capabilities by providing live integrated warfare systems for fleet operations, testing, evaluation, training, and research and development. This is an SCA position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Configure, initialize, and maintain the SPY Signal Processors and Transmitters systems.
Work closely with systems engineers to activate new advanced radar systems, troubleshoot and repair complex radar and AEGIS combat system casualties, and support fleet readiness events and large multi-system multi-platform Operational test events.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Clearance: Secret security clearance
Education: High School/GED
Experience: 3+ years of experience a ssessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance, which includes...
Experience with Spy Radar/Air and Missile Defense Radar (example: AN/USQ-T46, AN/SPY, SPY-1B/D Mod (LNA), SPQ-9B...etc.)
Experience with one or more of the following systems: SPY Radar, ISSP, ASP, BSP, MMSP, MMSP-R, SPY Transmitter.
Experience within an Aegis Combat System (ACS), Combat Information Centers (CIC), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Aegis BMD, DDG 1000, or related environment
Knowledge of network test equipment used to evaluate and correct operational failures (multi-meters, O-Scopes, Spectrum, and Network Analyzers)
Ability to perform Planned Maintenance System (PMS) procedures on and conduct fault detection/fault isolation procedures on SPY radar systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Navy Technical "C" school training or civilian/commercial equivalent in any one of the three SPY radar variants currently deployed in the fleet
Experience with AEGIS BL9 AN/SPY-1 Multi Mission Signal Processor
Experience with Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Signal Processor
Knowledge of, or experience in, troubleshooting and maintaining functional equipment areas of the AEGIS Weapon System to include UYQ-70 Display equipment, ORTS or COTS-based processing systems used onboard AEGIS Ships or other military UNIX based display equipment
