Raytheon's AESA and Antenna Department is responsible for full-scope antenna product solutions, spanning architecture trades, design, development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of antenna systems and associated integrated system verification solutions. Our multi-disciplined teams manage a variety of engineering projects while maintaining a work life balance.
This role will support state-of-the-art ultra-wideband phased array antennas, individual antennas, and Low Observable (LO) antennas within the Company. The selected candidate will work with diverse teams of engineers and scientists with backgrounds in Active Electronically Scanned Arrays (AESAs), Computational Electromagnetics Modeling, RF Test, Mechanical, Structural and Thermal analysis, Material Science, Process and Manufacturing Engineering and LO technology.

What You Will Do
You will provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems involving antenna/AESA-based applications such as radar, electronic warfare, electronic attack, electronic support measures, communications, geolocation, direction finding, etc.
Use computational electromagnetic analysis software to design and predict performance of various types of antennas and apertures (spiral, sinuous, Vivaldi, patch, slot, horn, ultra-wideband tightly coupled dipole arrays, etc.)
Analyze simulation or test data to verify performance to requirements.
Participate in the testing of RF hardware for required performance metrics: VSWR, insertion loss, gain, polarization, radar cross section (RCS), etc
Support internal and customer research and development programs, design and simulation of antennas, arrays or RF components/systems
Travel Requirements: less than 10% annually

Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant RF engineering experience with any combination of the following:
Design, fabrication, and test of conformal antennas, apertures, and passive RF components (radiating elements, radomes, power dividers, couplers, transitions, multi-layer board designs, Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSSs), etc.).
Experience designing, fabricating, and testing ultra-wideband phased array antennas such as Tightly Couple Dipole Arrays (TCDA), Vivaldi, Sliced Notch, Planar Ultra-wideband Modular Arrays (PUMA).
EM modeling & simulation tools: HFSS, CST, FEKO or SENTRi
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering
Electromagnetics modeling and simulation experience with conformal antennas
Knowledge of Printed Wiring Board (PWB) or printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication processes and design rules
Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrated by publications and student awards

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
