MITRE is currently in search of a software engineer with hands-on experience to support multiple projects developing complex software systems and working on agile software development teams. These MITRE projects are developing software systems in support of Army Electronic Warfare, and Signals Intelligence. We are looking for highly motivated, adaptive, and self-starter candidates with a solid software engineering foundation.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Perform containerized microservice development in C/C++, Python, and Java.
Design and implement RESTful APIs using Open API Specification (OAS).
Work within development teams and senior engineers to ideate software solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical discipline. and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree and 3 years of relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Experience developing in Linux operating systems environment.
Experience developing in either Java, C/C++, or Python.
Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle and development of large software applications.
Understanding of industry standard software design patterns and best practices.
Basic understanding of computer hardware architecture and its effect on system design and performance.
Able to support on-site engagement with sponsors and vendors in Aberdeen, MD with the expectation of an average of 50% of time spent in sponsor facilities.
Active Secret Clearance
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate as part of a software development team.
Experience using Agile processes and tools.
Experience working in Continuous Integration/ Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments.
Exposure to programming with NVIDIA CUDA.
Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing concepts and implementation.
Able to brief and tactfully engage with senior customers/sponsors (e.g. government personnel, vendor senior staff).
