Leidos currently has an exciting opportunity for a Chief Software Engineer to perform design, development, and hardware/software integration in Arlington, VA for the Electronic Warfare Division.
Our division primarily focuses on research & development and advanced prototyping, transforming state of the art signal processing algorithms into real-time software systems.
Projects involve small multi-disciplinary teams of engineers working together in spiral or agile development environments to meet aggressive customer schedules aimed at near-term field demonstrations.
We are seeking a candidate for this position with a track record of implementing high-performance signal processing on general purpose processors, such as ARM.
The successful candidate will:
Serve as the Software Technical Lead on complex multi-disciplinary programs that typically include field demonstration of real-time software and hardware systems.
Participate as a software individual contributor on projects: designing, implementing, and testing real-time C/C++ software for multi-core systems running Linux or a real-time operating systems, such as VxWorks
Participate in technical proposals as a software engineering subject matter expert, including sizing jobs.
Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions, processes, standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.
Mentor and coach other technical staff.
Support system field testing and data collection events, usually about a week in duration once or twice a year
The successful candidate will have the following education/experience:
Experience building C++ based software products that utilize third party mathematics and communication libraries
Experience with interface communication standards / protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and DDS
Experience transforming signal processing algorithms written in MATLAB into real-time systems
Advanced knowledge of the Linux operating system as well as experience with real-time operating systems
Experience designing, implementing, and testing software to configure and control RF hardware devices
Experience integrating software into third-party software frameworks and architectures, such as Redhawk
Experience documenting the developed software systems
Experience using version control (Subversion, GIT, etc.) and continuous integration software tools (Jenkins)
Masters with 15+ years prior relevant experience or equivalent BS with 17+ years of relevant experience.
Must be U.S. Citizen.
Active Secret clearance with ability to receive TS//SCI.
Bonus education/experience:
Existing TS/SCI security clearance
Experience with Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence algorithms and libraries, such as TensorFlow
Experience with NVIDIA GPU computing using the CUDA library
Experience with High Performance Computing including parallel and distributed computation
Experience with software defined radios, such as the Ettus USRP family of SDRs
Experience with Model-Based Design code generation practices
Experience with cloud-based computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with other programming languages such as Python and/or Java
Doctorate with 13+ years prior relevant experience.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00
