Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Systems Administrator to join our team to provide the United States Marine Corps advanced Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities! We have unparalleled tactical-to-strategic level experience in building, securing, and operating critical mission systems. As a collaborative member of a small and mostly autonomous team, this position directly supports secure enclave operational networks.
What You'll Be Doing:
· Manage IT Infrastructure: Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, networks, sensors, and other IT infrastructure.
· System Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance and ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. These activities include managing system and server resources - performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; monitoring and maintaining system and server configurations; performing repairs on faulty system and server hardware; and troubleshooting hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
· Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect data and systems from unauthorized access and potential threats. These activities include:
– Maintaining baseline system security according to organizational policies.
– Managing accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.
– Planning, executing, and verifying data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
– Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures.
– Implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures.
· Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures to protect critical information in the event of system failure.
· Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
· Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation on IT systems, procedures, and configurations.
· Project Management: Lead technical projects, including system upgrades and new implementations, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
· Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior IT staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
· Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors to resolve system-related issues and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and other IT services.
· Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and 3 years’ experience as a System Administrator, OR
· High school diploma and 8 years’ experience as a System Administrator
· Experience with Windows, Linux, Containerization (Docker, Kubernettes), and VMware
· Active Secret clearance
· Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g. CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP; reference cyber.mil for current list of approved certifications)
· Ability to demonstrate cyber/IT related experience with attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem solving.
· Experience with DevSecOps tools and technologies (Ansible, Puppet, etc.) to automate system baseline configuration
· Experience with implementing security controls in accordance with NIST 800-53.

Salary Range:
