Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Construction Specialist to join our team! In this role you will get to help lead a long-term construction project with the Federal Government to build a new Energetic Waste Incinerator Facility at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Maintains overall technical awareness of project objectives
- Provides interdisciplinary leadership and coordination to ensure design and construction products meet contractual requirements and achieve functional objectives consistent with stakeholder inputs
- Responsible for assisting with the management of the overall construction effort including coordinating procurement and reviewing and approving Purchase Orders
- Responsible for purchase decisions upon review of pricing and vendor information
- Reviews vendor submittals and RFI’s and submits them to the Designer of Record for approval
- Initiates and coordinates vendor fabrication and delivery
- Reviews submittals that are not required for fabrication, but needed to comply with the specifications
- Responsible for construction risk management updates
- Maintains and updates the Procurement Plan
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Proven ability to perform in a supervisory/leadership role, excellent written and oral communications skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required
- Working knowledge and proficiency in understanding of the responsibilities and impact of project execution
- Working knowledge and proficiency in application of project and staff management principles
- Ability to guide and mentor other team members
- 0-6 months construction experience and coursework in pursuit of a degree in the field
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Ability to work part-time in the range of 32 hours per week.

Salary Range:
