Senior Resident Engineer - Water
Overview
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Resident Engineer to oversee the execution of complex water infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in water engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
Project Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain project schedule and budget.
Review and approve construction drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
Conduct regular site inspections to assess quality, safety, and compliance.
Technical Expertise:
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and construction personnel.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Client Relations:
Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Communicate effectively with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and resolve issues.
Quality Assurance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
Review and approve inspection reports and test results.
Identify and mitigate quality risks.
Safety Management:
Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures on the construction site.
Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
Contract Administration:
Review and administer construction contracts.
Process change orders, claims, and payment applications.
Monitor contractor performance and enforce contract terms.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience in water engineering and project management.
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex water infrastructure projects.
Strong technical knowledge of water treatment, distribution, and wastewater treatment processes.
Stormwater management systems design and construction
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in construction management software and tools.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience working on projects in the Middle East, particularly the UAE.
Knowledge of local regulations and standards.
