We are seeking a Coordinator to support the Friendly Visiting Program, which connects homebound older adults with dedicated volunteers to reduce isolation and promote companionship. The Coordinator will play a key role in managing the program, recruiting volunteers, and collaborating across QCH's network to place volunteers in various roles. This position reports directly to the Lead Coordinator.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the Friendly Visiting Program, focusing on recruiting, interviewing, placing, and monitoring volunteers.
Conduct initial screenings for all QCH volunteer applicants, referring them to the Friendly Visiting program or other QCH programs as needed.
Manage the onboarding and orientation process for Friendly Visiting volunteers.
Ensure compliance with funder requirements by completing weekly/monthly reports and data entry, as required by NYC Aging.
Organize and execute volunteer appreciation events, training sessions, and recognition opportunities.
Manage volunteer social media groups and create engaging content for monthly newsletters and volunteer tip sheets.
Participate in community outreach by attending fairs, local markets, and events to attract new volunteers.
Maintain accurate records and provide regular reports on volunteer participation.
Participate in team meetings, training, and staff development.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Services, Social Work, Communications, Non-profit Leadership, Public Administration, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in human services, volunteer coordination, social work, or nonprofit work.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to motivate and direct volunteers in a community-oriented setting.
Excellent interpersonal and networking skills for community outreach and volunteer engagement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
Must pass the NYS Clearance Review Background Check.
Preferred Skills:
Ability to speak Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese).
Volunteer experience working with older adults.
