Purpose: |

The Sr. Database Administrator will leverage experience in Oracle |
Database Development and Administration to support technical, |
business, and financial objectives. This role involves working with |
both custom and packaged software, focusing on database design, data |
modeling, and technical support. The Database Administrator will be |
responsible for the development, testing, debugging, and |
implementation of code within the customer system, ensuring optimal |
database performance and reliability. |

Responsibilities: |

- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of |
database systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability |
while adhering to customer requirements. |
- Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive |
data, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and best |
practices for database security. |
- Monitor database performance and identify bottlenecks, applying |
tuning and optimization strategies to ensure efficient operation. |
- Develop, implement, and regularly test backup and recovery |
procedures to safeguard data integrity and ensure availability in |
case of system failures. |
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and |
application developers, assisting with database queries and |
troubleshooting as needed. |
- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, |
processes, and procedures; prepare reports on database |
performance and compliance for management review. |
- Support PL/SQL development and administration, ensuring effective |
database functionality and application performance. |
- Understand and comply with development standards and the Software |
Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to maintain consistency across |
projects. |
- Engage in planning, development, and troubleshooting efforts as |
required to enhance database systems. |
- Define file organization, indexing methods, and security |
procedures tailored for specific user applications to improve |
data accessibility and security. |
- Project long-range requirements for database administration and |
design in collaboration with other managers in the information |
systems function. |
- Analyze relationships between work activities and data records to |
determine insights and synthesize information from multiple data |
sources. |
