ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - DEPARTMENT OF QUALITY SERVICES (BAMC-2024-21678):
Bowhead is seekingAdministrative Assistants to support the Department of Quality Services (DCQM) at the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, TX. The Administrative Assistants will be tasked with administrative functions within the medical center at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:
General administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering and preparing correspondence, scheduling appointments, answering phones and questions from staff and patients.
Approving and submitting DMHRSi timecards for Medical Management.
Generating and maintaining supply lists for Medical Management.
Coordinating with Case Managers for processing of Active-Duty Service Members and Wounded Warriors.
Orient new Case Managers and/or clerical staff to administrative procedures related to utilization management and case management processes, as well as the operation and troubleshooting of general office equipment.
Collect and provide patient disposition data (e.g., separation, return to duty, transfer) according to established guidance for reports to San Antonio Market (SAM), the Warrior in Transition Brigade/Warrior in Transition Units, and local Command level as required for all ADSMs from all military services.
Track receipts, expenditures, and maintain control and accountability of case management taxi vouchers, clothing, and office supplies by preparing and maintaining an accurate inventory in either a Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel document.
Assist case managers in coordinating the processing of physician orders for durable medical equipment and post-hospitalization services required for all categories of beneficiaries, including documentation of coordination in the inpatient medical record.
Generate Managed Care Program consults in MHS Genesis, obtaining TRICARE authorizations from the MCSC.
Transport time-sensitive medical documents for signature and distribution to the Command and/or other Departments within the MTF or JBSA-FSH.
Assist family members and beneficiaries with obtaining lodging reservations in facilities located on the BAMC campus and/or JBSA-FT Sam Houston installation.
Perform other duties as assigned dependent upon the department assigned.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum in addition to at least two (2+) years' experience in a hospital administrative environment.
Administrative experience in a government and/or hospital setting highly desired.
Intermediate level computer/PC knowledge required including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven office environment where privacy and confidentiality is critical while working alone and in teams to ensure mission success.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and provide proof of TDAP and Influenza vaccinations prior to employment and update as required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security clearance requirements however qualified candidates must be able to successfully obtain a NACI check to gain access to the facility. Bowhead retains the right to change these requirements due to contractual requirements. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is a requirement for this location.
