Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Project Controls Manager to join our Aviation team in Europe! The candidate will develop, manage, and execute all phases of the project controls effort and provide leadership for every phase of significant aviation and transportation infrastructure projects or programs to assure on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with all client requirements. The candidate will manage a team of professionals across all aspects of project controls functions, utilizing widely diversified knowledge and drawing upon extensive experience and exposure to various types of projects and clients.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult and complex project control problems.
- Interfaces with clients, attends regular meetings, and provides strategy-type recommendations on critical matters to support decision making.
- Guides the development and implementation of project controls procedures to support the implementation of best practices for schedule, cost, earned value, risk and change management processes.
- Manages a team of Project Control staff who are qualified to analyze, evaluate, and forecast project costs, as well as performance against an established schedule with critical milestones.
- Recommends and oversees the implementation and customization of project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Coordinates staffing requirements, assigns and supervises project work activities, and trains personnel.
- Completes performance reviews and provides personnel development for the assigned employees.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
EDUCATION & SPECIFIC ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related field
- 10+ years of overall related experience. Experience on projects across Civils, Infrastructure, Buildings and Utilities., or equivalent
- Experience on mixed use development projects
- Experience in PMO/PMC projects.
- Incumbent must also possess strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform in a management capacity is also required.
- Experience in FIDIC contracts
- Aviation experience is preferred. Transportation experience on major programs is also preferred.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
- Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
- Effective oral and written skills for client presentations, technical reporting, and internal / external correspondence; Ability to effectively present information to key stakeholders as required by the client.
- Proficient PC skills including proficiency in Project Controls Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of the construction management at risk alternative delivery process and the functions inherent to construction management of large-scaled projects
- Ability to manage and encourage a team of construction management professionals.
- Ability to interface with all levels with project team, client, and others.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of support function problems.
- Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing relationships that complies with the client’s proactive, collaborative culture.
