Job Description:
Parsons KAFD is looking for an amazingly talented HSE Manager to join our team!
In this role, you will join a leading professional engineering, construction, and cost management team working on multiple projects in the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). KAFD is a master plan development positioned to become Riyadh’s new Central Business District that combines a mixture of world-class commercial offices, hotels, retail spaces, and contemporary residences in addition to smart city solutions that redefine urban living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the Project/Program Director on all Construction job sites.
- Implements and manages the Health and Safety Management Systems as per client’s requirements.
- Advises and assists the senior construction site representative in the establishment and management of safety programs and in identifying and eliminating/controlling any hazards to persons and property.
- Audits and inspects the job site to detect and correct safety risks and hazards.
- Reviews risk assessments for upcoming work and provides technical assistance to the safety planning process.
- Assist the HSE Management in developing Safety Performance Indicators, Targets and helps communicate findings to staff and assist in the implementation of the mitigation strategies.
- Audits the job accident records and periodically prepares an audit report of these records.
- Represents senior management during safety inspections of the job site by regulatory authorities or company insurance carriers.
- Receives reviews and distributes safety inspection reports with recommended corrective actions.
- Provides oversight to the new hire safety orientation process and other safety-related training.
- Participates in Weekly HSE Meetings with Contractors and assists and participates in site safety training.
- Advises the Construction Management team on potential hazards at work sites.
- Reviews and advises Construction Management on safety requirements in the Method Statements and Risk Assessment process.
- Verifies proper maintenance, calibration, and operation of all safety equipment.
- Verifies agreed safety standards and applicable regulations are enforced by the Supervising Consultant/Contractor.
- Responsible for auditing Supervising Consultant and/or oversight of Contractor Project Safety and ensuring the project is in compliance with Client's Health, safety & Environmental requirements.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
BSc Degree in Health and Safety or equivalent accredited from a Western University/Organization, NVQ Level 6/diploma and/or equivalent experience and relevant safety-related training courses.
Minimum Experience:
13+ years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety. Graduate Member of an International Safety Institute (GRAD IOSH/CSP or equivalent)
Further Qualification Required:
Requires a thorough knowledge of health and safety regulations and reporting procedures, as well as good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth understanding of safety management systems and procedures.
Further Experience Required:
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent ability to design and implement policies.
- Excellent presentation skills for delivery of health and health and safety-related training programs.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proactive, must keep up to date with legal and professional changes associated with public health.
