Job Description
OVERVIEW:
This is a hybrid Business Analyst (50%) / Product Owner (25%) / Project Manager (25%) role supporting the BI and Data Warehouse team. This person will serve as the primary bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, owning analytics initiatives end-to-end from initial intake, scoping, and requirements gathering through development, testing, stakeholder sign-off, and delivery.
This is not a traditional reporting analyst role. The position requires strong business analysis, stakeholder management, project ownership, product ownership, and data analysis experience.
DAY TO DAY:
Partner with stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Milk Sourcing, and Operations to understand business needs and gather/document reporting and analytics requirements
Translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories for BI developers and data teams
Own BI/data initiatives end-to-end, including initial intake, scope, stakeholders, project plans, timelines, dependencies, deliverables, risks, testing/UAT, sign-offs, and successful delivery
Serve as a Product Owner for BI initiatives, owning and prioritizing requirements, user stories, and the BI backlog based on business needs
Analyze data, validate requirements, investigate data issues, and identify/trace appropriate data sources
Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies while partnering closely with business stakeholders and technical teams
Coordinate delivery of Power BI dashboards, reports, data products, and data extracts
Maintain proactive stakeholder communication throughout projects, including expectations, priorities, timelines, risks, and status updates
Support compliance, audit readiness, SOP adherence, and documentation within a regulated environment
Skills and Requirements
8+ years of overall professional experience, with a strong background as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, BI Analyst, Data/Product Analyst, or similar role
Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience independently owning projects end-to-end, including planning, scope, stakeholders, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, testing/UAT, sign-offs, and successful delivery.
Product Ownership: Hands-on experience owning and prioritizing business requirements, translating business needs into user stories, managing/prioritizing work, and partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams throughout delivery.
Strong Business Analysis experience, including:
Requirements gathering and documentation
Writing user stories
Process analysis
Translating business needs into technical requirements/solutions
Working directly with business stakeholders and technical teams
3+ years of Power BI experience, including:
Creating/modifying reports and dashboards
Navigating datasets
Performing analysis and data validation
Troubleshooting reporting issues
Working knowledge of SQL, including:
Writing queries
Investigating tables and relationships
Performing data validation and source tracing
Conceptual understanding of Data Warehousing, including:
Data Warehouses and Data Marts
ETL processes
Star Schema
Data architecture and data flow concepts
Experience working in an Agile environment, including:
Sprint planning
Backlog management
Agile ceremonies
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to independently manage projects, priorities, stakeholders, and deliverables
Experience in a regulated industry, such as: Healthcare, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical
Experience supporting compliance, validation, audit, or SOP-driven environments
Strong Product Owner background with backlog ownership and prioritization experience
Experience using AI tools
Advanced analytics or data product management experience
