Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Software Safety Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Software Safety domain for internal software development team and provide general support/guidance to team members
What You'll Be Doing:
Keep up-to-date by reviewing new regulations, standards, policies, and methods
Work closely with software developers and test team
Provide Software Safety input for software development tasks, briefings, meetings, and reporting
Conduct hazard analysis by employing methods such as: Safety Fault Tree Analyses, Software Sneak Analysis, Code Walkthroughs and Petri-net Analyses
Lead efforts to produce Software Safety documents and reports as outlined in MIL-STD-882E including, but not limited to:
Software Safety Program Plan (SSPP)
Safety Assessment Report (SAR)
Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessment
Lead efforts related to hazard tracking
Identify and document risk mitigation measures
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Possess strong domain knowledge of MIL-STD-882E, Standard Practice for System Safety
Possess base software engineering expertise
Possess the ability to relate safety requirements to overall software system design and deduce whether the design meets safety requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance
U.S. Citizenship is required

Salary Range:
