The successful candidate will be a member of a small team providing facility support to a dedicated program building. This candidate will enjoy hands-on work and possess a broad range of maintenance skills to perform routine maintenance activities and critical repairs. Duties will include, but are not limited to, providing facility improvement solutions, maintaining the operation (mechanical, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) of the building, oversight of subcontractors, lending expertise to cost estimates, performing routine inspections, and ensuring a safe work environment. The position requires a candidate who is self-motivated and demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills. Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Current POLY Responsibilities will include: Performing a variety of maintenance duties involved in the repair and maintenance of buildings and facilities: Electrical: Changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and repairing ballast and light fixtures. Plumbing: Correcting toilet, sink, urinal, faucet, water fountain and general plumbing issues. Building: Furniture assembly, picture and white board hanging, doorknob/lock/closures repair/replacement, interior patching and painting, daily electrical/mechanical/HVAC equipment inspections &/or maintenance. HVAC: Troubleshooting issues to a basic level. Overseeing and assisting with the coordination of on-site contractors to perform outsourced maintenance activities. Working with management to identify and correct any indoor/outdoor items that may pose a danger to employees, tenants, or visitors. Required Skills: 5 years’ building maintenance experience and electrical experience. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting electrical, structural, and plumbing maintenance issues. Demonstrated experience repairing and/or replacing building equipment. Familiar with electrical and mechanical facility CAD drawings. Familiar with Building Management System (BMS) and Maintenance scheduling software. Ability to fulfill the physical demands of essential job functions: Climb a ladder, climb stairs, work underneath raised floor, frequent walking, frequent standing, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be reliable and punctual, with the ability to be on call for after-hours emergency response. Ability to work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to learn new systems and maintenance techniques. Active TS/SCI clearance, with polygraph. Valid driver’s license. Desired Skills: Experience across multiple trades (Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC) at a basic level. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and other software as necessary to complete the job. Working knowledge of building life safety systems, including UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supplies), emergency generators and fire panels. Demonstrated knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of building plumbing. Familiarity with, CRAC units, RTU’s, UPS systems etc. Ability to Fabricate metal fixtures and Mount Antennas.
