Backend Software Engineer
The annual base salary range for this position in Mountain View, CA is $120,000-$220,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. POSITION SUMMARY:
Metis Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team and help us reimagine air traffic management for the 21^st^ century! You will be working within the realm of integrated airspace management on services that support the Extensible Traffic Management (XTM) Client being developed at NASAs Ames Research Center. The XTM Client is an application designed to provide an airspace integration capability between a vehicle and supporting airspace system(s). The client aids in the planning of aircraft operations and provides a real-time interface for message exchanges with supporting airspace systems to provide situation awareness for the aircraft operator and adjacent services. As an agile team, we commit code and perform code reviews with a goal of performing a production push daily. The successful candidate is a motivated self-starter who loves technology and can grow our software platform enabling frequent and seamless production deployments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Minimum 3 years of experience developing enterprise class applications in Java and/or JavaScript/TypeScript
Solid understanding of microservice and event driven architectures
Experience with Spring, Maven, Gradle, and other related technologies
Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with message brokers such as Kafka
Experience with authorization protocols such as OAuth 2.0
Agile development experience
Passion for writing high-quality, reliable code, unit and integration tests, and clear and concise documentation
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace
Minimum B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
Experience with APIs including RESTful and streaming APIs
Experience with AWS or similar service providers
Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases
