This job is a member of the Global Security Operations and Risk Team within the Operations Division.
What you'll do
Leads American Airlines' operational security program, providing 24/7 security risk management, incident response, and decision support to protect team members, customers, facilities, and flight operations.
Maintains operational security compliance of the airline through the work of the SecOps desk; serves as the primary escalation point for SecOps
Prepares executive-level briefings regarding significant security incidents, operational risks, emerging threats, and mitigation strategies.
Ensures IOC, Flight, and Inflight leadership along with the enterprise at large are abreast of evolving security topics
Leads AA's duty of care efforts related to real-time travel security and awareness
Provides security risk assessments and operational recommendations to support decision-making during security incidents, operational disruptions, emerging threats, and other time-sensitive events.
Develops, maintains and supports operational security programs, platforms and outputs for aviation and non-aviation operations globally
Maintains strong partnerships with operational stakeholders to ensure security requirements are integrated into day-to-day airline operations.
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience/training
4 years leadership experience overseeing teams performing 24/7 and/or security sensitive functions
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
DOD/USG intelligence, State Department analyst and/or counter terrorism training
Experience in a security analyst or security operational capacity
Knowledge of airline systems and processes; AA specific
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Possess or obtain Ground Security Coordinator qualification
Knowledge of analytic methodologies
Ability to to obtain a US government secret level security clearance
Ability to travel worldwide
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and occasional irregular schedules as dictated by emerging threats, or in response to current incidents or assignments
Knowledge of global airline operations
