Lead Business Analyst (Azure/DevOps) - United States | Onsite/Bothell, WA
We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to support utility industry initiatives in complex, compliance-driven environments. In this role, you will act as the key connection between business stakeholders and software delivery teams, translating operational needs into clear, actionable requirements that drive successful outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic, detail-oriented analyst with strong utilities domain expertise, NERC compliance knowledge, and Azure DevOps experience to help deliver high-impact technology solutions.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and software development teams, ensuring alignment on goals, scope, and expected outcomes.
Gather, analyze, document, validate, and manage business, functional, and system requirements across multiple initiatives.
Lead requirements elicitation activities through stakeholder interviews, workshops, surveys, document reviews, and collaborative working sessions.
Create, refine, and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements artifacts, and end-to-end traceability inAzure DevOps (ADO).
Support utility industry projects operating withinNERC-compliant environments, ensuring documentation standards and regulatory expectations are met.
Evaluate business processes, workflows, and operational procedures to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Translate business needs into structured requirements that enable efficient design, development, testing, and implementation.
Partner closely with project managers, developers, QA teams, and business users to support successful solution delivery.
Facilitate requirements reviews, solution walkthroughs, and stakeholder sign-off sessions.
Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams while balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Support enterprise software development and modernization efforts with strong analytical insight and business process expertise.
Help drive consistency, clarity, and quality across requirements documentation and delivery practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree inInformation Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
7+ yearsof Business Analysis experience in IT environments.
Demonstrated experience supportingutilities industryprojects.
Strong knowledge ofNERC documentation and compliance requirements.
Hands-on experience usingAzure DevOps (ADO)for requirements management, user stories, and traceability.
Proven success in requirements gathering, process mapping, workflow analysis, and business documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to lead stakeholder discussions, requirements workshops, and cross-functional collaboration sessions.
Experience translating complex business needs into clear functional and system requirements.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working inAgile/Scrumenvironments.
Certifications such asCBAP, PMI-PBA, Agile BA, or Scrum-related credentials.
Experience supportingenterprise software developmentand modernization initiatives.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence teams and drive consensus.
The base salary range for this position is $92,250 - $130,000 plus incentives that align with individual and company performance. Actual salaries will vary based on work location, qualifications, skills, education, experience, and competencies. Benefits available to eligible employees in this role include medical, dental, and vision insurance, comprehensive employee assistance program, 401(k) retirement plan, paid time off and holidays.
