Building Automation Software Programming Lead:
Leidos is seeking an experienced Building Automation Software Programming Lead for work at its Walled Lake, Michigan office. We are seeking qualified individuals with experience to excel in a high performance team responsible for the development and delivery of market leading controls services and solutions.
Job Description
As a Building Automation Software Programming Lead, you will provide technical expertise and work as a part of a team with other engineers and consultants involved in the design and implementation of diverse and challenging solutions for industrial and commercial clients. The ideal candidate would be responsible for the entire lifecycle of a project. Your responsibilities will range from engineering development, software/hardware purchasing, programming, system networking, customer interface development, and commissioning of building controls systems. The successful candidate will have controls experience, knowledge of industry standards and current technologies, outstanding communication skills and the ability to meet project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Building Automation Technology or related field and 4+ years related experience or 8 years of directly related experience will substitute in lieu of degree.
- Building Automation System (BAS/BMS) programming experience and troubleshooting skills.
- Tridium Niagara Certified preferred.
- Proficient with one or more controls platforms (Tridium, Distech, JCI, Siemens, etc.).
- Solid understanding of a wide variety of mechanical HVAC systems.
- Solid understanding of MSTP/ IP and BAS system networking.
- Proficient in BAS data management and cyber security practices.
- Proficient in multiple communication protocols including BACNet and Modbus.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, wiring diagrams, and device data sheets.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and software.
- Professional demeanor, solid interpersonal skills with good written and oral communication capability.
- Possess strong business ethics at all times.
Responsibilities
- Complete BAS customer interface development (graphics, alarming, trending etc..)
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex HVAC controls and software problems.
- Responsible for maintaining system integration standards and processes that increases project profitability.
- Manages field commissioning of control system integrations and operability.
- Development and execution of control system operational training for customers.
- Utilizing Tridium batch editing, tagging models, analytics, and reporting features.
- Identify required building/system/component hierarchies and adhered to customer expectations.
- Organizes and maintains job folder and updates pertinent job related information.
- Completes all project closeout documentation, including program backups and as-built drawings.
- Writes progress reports and participates in progress meetings as directed.
- Take part in solutions-based discussions with owners and Project Managers.
- Perform integration services to third-party legacy systems using published software drivers, BACnet, LON and Modbus protocols.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have the ability to work on large project tasks both independently and with other technical staff. The candidate will also have to demonstrate good communication skills with the client and team members. Travel will be required during project commissioning (20-40%). Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills are required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
