Job Description
The IT Analyst - Transportation is responsible for analyzing, supporting, and improving transportation and logistics applications that enable routing, final mile delivery, warehouse integration, and intelligent detection capabilities. This role partners closely with Transportation Operations, Product Teams, and IT delivery teams to ensure applications meet business needs, operate reliably, and align with product roadmaps and enterprise standards.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
Analyzes transportation and logistics business processes and translates needs into functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Partners with Product Managers and Product Owners to support backlog refinement, clarify scope, and align analysis to product roadmaps and delivery priorities
Understands basic XML structure to assist with schema validation for large-scale enterprise data integration
Acts as a liaison between Transportation Operations, Warehouse Operations, Product Teams, and IT implementation teams
Performs application analysis and production support for transportation systems, including routing, final mile delivery, and exception management
Troubleshoots and documents application issues, identifying root causes and coordinating resolution with appropriate technical teams
Provides quantitative analysis through large data set collection to drive business decisions
Ability to provide a story with large data turning complex analysis into actionable business insights
Supports transportation and logistics initiatives through impact analysis, requirement validation, testing support, and release readiness activities
Develops and executes functional test scenarios and supports system, regression, and user acceptance testing
Reviews application data flows and integrations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with defined business rules
Participates in incident management, including issue triage, impact assessment, communication, and post incident reviews
Maintains functional documentation, process flows, and support artifacts aligned to enterprise and Product Team standards
Contributes to cross functional reviews to ensure solution quality, consistency, and alignment with product intent
Rate: $45-$60 an hour depending on skills and experience

Skills and Requirements
2+ years of experience in an IT Analyst, Business Analyst, or application support role
Experience supporting transportation, logistics, or supply chain technology solutions
Familiarity with transportation management or route planning platforms (e.g., Descartes or similar tools) preferred
Experience working in Agile or product based delivery models
Typically requires overnight travel approximately 25-50% of the time Descartes or similar transportation system experience
SAP experience
