Law Enforcement Agent - CIRT Agent The Critical Incident Response Team is composed of highly motivated individuals who are constantly looking for ways to enhance its operations and serve the department. Candidates seeking to join this team need to be aware that the selection process, field training program, and attending a tactical operator school are all physically demanding and mentally strenuous. Those selected will find that being a part of this team is highly rewarding and will allow you the opportunity to be a part of something great.Principle Duties The CIRT Agent will need to perform the following role:Use tactical expertise to resolve critical incidents and life-threatening situations.Able to quickly respond to critical incidents, manage resources and quickly adapt to the situation to resolve the incident.Reduce drug trafficking and prison violence.Create lesson plans and conduct training for CIRT Agents and other staff.Draft and carry out operational orders and incident action plans.Make recommendations for revision of policy, procedure, and processes that affect the safety and security of the Central Utah Correctional Facility.Liaison between the tactical unit and other divisions/agencies.Obtain and execute warrants, conduct searches, raids, and investigations, maintaining proper chain of evidence.ExpectationsRotating on-call scheduleMandatory responses outside of normal working hours.Must pass all department firearms qualifications with a 90% score biannually.Must pass the CIRT physical training test biannually.Attend required team trainingTesting ProcessInternal candidates will be subject to UDC promotional policy, for external candidates this does not apply. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be notified via email and scheduled for testing.The testing process will consist of a physical fitness test, firearms proficiency test, scenario practical, and oral interview.After competing in all phases of testing, selected applicants will be placed on the hiring list. This recruitment will create a promotional list for CIRT Agents for CUCF to be used by LEB for up to 1 year from the date the official hiring list is created. Testing, Scoring, and Candidate SelectionFirearms Qualification- Must pass department qualification with a minimum of 90%Physical fitness test minimum requirements (test will be completed in plate carrier and helmet) items will be provided at the time of testing.- 1 mile run with rifle (12 min) - 60 yd sprint with ram in gas mask (12 seconds) - 30 yd low crawl in gas mask (40 seconds) - 6 ft wall jump (8 seconds) - Pull-ups (3 minimum) - Dips (4 minimum) - Climb 4 flights of stairs w/ram (15 seconds) - Dummy Drag 20 yds (25 seconds)Scenario Practical will consist of several scenarios to assess critical thinking skills and decision making under stress. Supplemental Information Job requires POST certification; Peace Officer Standards Training in Utah. Need to be Utah POST certified within 12 months of hire. (LEO and SFO required, BCO as required by position)Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental stress situations, e.g. working at great heights, working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, being subject to possible physical attack, etc.The work requires considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restricted areas, defending oneself and/or others against physical attack. Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state per UCA 53-3-202(1)(a). This position does not come with
