Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a SOC Analyst for a leading equipment rental organization. This individual will join a dynamic security operations team focused on monitoring and defending enterprise systems against evolving cyber threats. The candidate will actively investigate alerts across a variety of tools including SIEM and endpoint solutions, triage potential security incidents, and support ongoing threat detection efforts. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their cybersecurity career looking to gain hands-on exposure in a fast-paced SOC environment, working alongside experienced analysts while contributing to real-time incident response and continuous security improvements. This is a 6 month contract to hire and comes with an hourly rate of $30-33 with a conversion salary of $64,640.

Skills and Requirements
1+ year experience in helpdesk, SOC, or security operations environment
Exposure to cybersecurity operations (SOC experience preferred)
Hands-on experience with security tools (SIEM, EDR, firewall, DNS security)
Exposure to Cisco security tools (Cisco Secure Access, Cisco-based applications)
Understanding of core cybersecurity concepts (phishing, malware, threat indicators, intrusion techniques)
Ability to triage alerts, assess severity, and determine next steps
Strong documentation and communication skills for incident tracking
Associate's degree with equivalent hands-on IT/cybersecurity experience - Security+ or other entry-level cybersecurity certification
Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework
Experience with tools such as Splunk, Cisco Umbrella, Firepower, or TrendMicro
Splunk ES preferred; recently migrated environment
Experience tuning alerts and reducing false positives
Comfortable working in a fast-paced SOC environment
Bachelor's degree preferred
