Job Title: Missile Modeling Kinematics Systems Engineer L2 TASD
Job Description
This position involves developing and delivering high-fidelity threat modeling products for the Missile Defense Agency's Ballistic Missile Defense System. You will play a crucial role in the creation of kinematic missile models, IR signature modeling, and various data production and analysis activities. As part of the Threat and Advanced Simulations Development contract, you will work on the development of modeling and simulation tools to support missile and space launch vehicle behavioral characteristics.
Responsibilities
Develop ballistic and advanced/hypersonic kinematic threat models for modeling and simulation tools.
Apply engineering and mathematical algorithms to accurately portray missile or space launch vehicle behavior.
Research, interpret, and verify parameters for missile or space launch vehicle trajectories.
Author highly technical Verification and Validation (V&V) documents.
Collaborate with customers, threat stakeholders, intelligence analysts, and engineers to capture requirements.
Work independently and as part of a product delivery team to meet critical delivery schedules.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD.
Active DoD Secret clearance.
Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB and Python.
Understanding of flight characteristics, motion, and performance of ballistic missiles.
Self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic team environment.
Ability to collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure product requirements are met.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong in math, physics, or engineering.
Experience in modeling, simulation, and automation.
Experience with modeling flight characteristics and performance of ballistic missiles.
Familiarity with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and models.
Mastery of engineering modeling principles for body motion and trajectory generation.
Ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Work Environment
This role is fully onsite at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. The position requires daily on-site presence with no remote or hybrid work options. You will work within a dynamic and collaborative environment with a focus on developing high-fidelity threat modeling products.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
