Serve as a senior, market-facing portfolio leader responsible for shaping and executing the business strategy for U.S. property (re)insurance with an emphasis on noncat exposures. Reporting to the SVP, Head of US Other Property, NonCat US, own portfolio performance, set underwriting direction, and expand the franchise through high-impact client and broker partnerships. Lead the development of proprietary underwriting insights, influences capital deployment and risk appetite within assigned segments, and represents the firm externally as a thought leader on emerging trends and client solutions across Minneapolis, New York, London, Bermuda, and Zurich. Drive profitable growth by architecting market strategy, segment priorities, and product positioning across treaty and select facultative opportunities. In collaboration with actuarial, analytics, finance, and claims, establish pricing frameworks and portfolio guardrails, sponsors new internal models, and governs best practices, peer review standards, and escalation protocols. Personally originate, structure, and negotiate complex placements; lead executive-level client dialogues; and direct broker engagement strategies to deepen access, improve information flow, and secure favorable terms for long duration relationships. Is accountable for building and managing high value client relationships through executive meetings, audits, and strategic planning sessions that strengthen transparency and performance. Curate differentiated solutions to client problems, integrating RenRes proprietary tools, data assets, and advisory capabilities to address coverage design, inflation and exposure shifts, supply chain vulnerabilities, and accumulations. Design and maintain portfolio- and deal level comparison frameworks that elevate decision quality and enable timely capital allocation. Champion a high performance culture by leading, mentoring, and developing underwriting and analyst talent. Design and deliver training curricula spanning catastrophe and noncat modeling context, reinsurance pricing philosophies, and the interplay of actuarial, finance, and claims in underwriting outcomes. Recruit for growth, succession plan for critical roles, and provide clear performance management and coaching. Communicate regularly with the Leadership Team on portfolio posture, market dynamics, and execution against best practices, while providing early visibility into opportunities and threats that may warrant strategic pivots. Exemplify disciplined underwriting judgment, market influence, and enterprise leadership. 25% domestic required: travel to meet with clients and brokers, varies depending on where client is based (all over U.S.), typically 2-3 nights at a time. Must have work experience in each of the following: 1) using and enhancing proprietary property modelling and pricing tools in reinsurance industry, including actuarial pricing tools, complex risk systems, risk aggregation tools, and industry weather models; 2) reinsurance portfolio construction, including responsibility for portfolio rollup, reporting, and optimization and industrywide marketplace analysis and benchmarking; and 3) analyzing, modelling, and making technical risk decisions in reinsurance industry, experience in structuring reinsurance contracts, responsibility for underwriting emerging risk classes, and maintaining responsibility for production, marketing, analysis of property reinsurance, and oversight of team of analysts. $190,000-$250,000.
