Responsibilities You will translate customer requirements and program needs to develop new and improved concepts, principles, and/or techniques that will advance the body of knowledge of computer science. You will adapt and apply advanced computer science methods and techniques to solve complex computer processing requirements. You will develop, implement, and maintain information systems, Cyber Security programs, policies, procedures, and/or tools to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and/or data. You will manage and complete multidimensional, complex tasks with multiple dependencies independently, mentors others regularly ensuring appropriate succession, and leads others to accomplish complex, cross-organizational goals. You will apply oral and written communication skills to effectively interface with personnel at all levels and has proven ability to support briefings or presentations to mid- to high-level stakeholders. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band ND-03 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Developing, designing, and implementing high-throughput microservice architectures and/or data synchronization and consistency mechanisms (including conflict detection and resolution for full-stack application(s) using C#, TypeScript, React, and/or SQL Server/T-SQL) across distributed systems; optimize system performance through database query optimization, caching strategies, and/or the refinement of latency-critical paths; deploy and manage application components within cloud infrastructure; and provide technical mentorship of developers and/or the translation of complex business requirements into detailed technical designs and actionable development tasks. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions. Additional Information This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories. The pay schedule and pay band for all Science and Engineering Positions will be ND-1/2/3/4/5. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
