Job Title: Environmental Analyst
Job Description
The Environmental Analyst is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing water-related environmental compliance programs, with a strong focus on construction stormwater permitting and erosion & sediment control. This role interfaces with regulatory agencies, internal business units, and industry groups to ensure compliance, influence policy, and support environmental stewardship initiatives.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement compliance strategies for water-related environmental regulations and permits.
Manage permitting, reporting, and site inspections related to construction stormwater programs.
Ensure compliance with the Clean Water Act, Georgia Water Quality Act, NPDES Construction & Industrial Stormwater Permits, and Georgia Erosion & Sedimentation Act (GESA).
Conduct program reviews and recommend improvements to environmental procedures and policies.
Interface with regulatory agencies (EPA, Georgia EPD) and represent the organization externally.
Track and interpret regulatory changes and influence policy development.
Partner with internal business units to implement compliance programs and environmental solutions.
Support environmental training, communication, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Participate in storm restoration and emergency response efforts.
Perform a combination of field and office-based work to support construction stormwater compliance programs.
Conduct site inspections at active construction locations to determine permit coverage requirements and verify compliance with environmental regulations.
Evaluate and monitor erosion and sediment control measures on-site, including best management practices (BMPs) such as silt fences, sediment basins, and other stormwater controls.
Document inspection findings, identify compliance gaps, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Review erosion and sedimentation (ENS) plans and stormwater documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
Prepare and submit permit applications, notices, and supporting documentation through state systems.
Manage administrative tasks related to permitting, including tracking applications, submitting payments, and maintaining compliance records.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide guidance on stormwater compliance requirements and best practices.
Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure project activities align with NPDES construction stormwater permitting standards.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in water-related environmental permitting and compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science (Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, etc.).
Direct experience with NPDES permitting specifically for construction stormwater, erosion and sedimentation.
Familiarity with the Clean Water Act, EPA regulations, GESA, SWPPP, SWP3, ENS plans, Georgia EPD, water quality, and GEOS.
Experience in site inspections and compliance evaluations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
ES&PCP or SWP3 plan development/review experience.
Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission certifications (Level 1 Inspector, Level 2 Design Professional/Reviewer).
Professional certification in environmental/engineering field.
Experience with SWPPP / SWP3 development, review, or implementation.
Familiarity with erosion and sediment control plans (ENS / ES&PCP).
Experience supporting utility, infrastructure, or construction projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Work Environment
This role includes a combination of field and office-based work (approximately 25% field / 75% office-based) to support construction stormwater compliance programs. Travel within Georgia, primarily North Georgia, is required to support field inspections, with occasional overnight stays as needed. The work schedule is standard business hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility depending on project needs. There is an option to work remotely on Fridays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
