Major/Essential Functions:
Supports the accurate and timely submission of institutional reports by assisting in validation and compliance checks using SQL, Python, Excel, Cognos, and Tableau to ensure data integrity and regulatory adherence.
Provides technical support in data extraction, transformation, and automation processes using SQL, Python, Excel, and SSIS.
Assists in maintaining and improving the institutional data repository by validating and integrating data using SQL, Python, and SSIS in connection with Banner ODS to streamline reporting workflows.
Contributes to the development, validation, and refinement of predictive models, dashboards, and analytical tools using SQL, Python, Excel, Cognos, and Tableau.
Ensures consistency and accuracy in BI reports and dashboards by supporting data extraction, validation, and analysis using SQL, Excel, Cognos, Tableau, and Power BI.
Conducts verification of data for internal and external data requests, regulatory submissions, and presentation materials using SQL, Excel, and Cognos to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Supports the creation of data quality monitoring tools and dashboards using SQL, Python, Tableau, and SSIS to detect and address data inconsistencies.
Collaborates with institutional stakeholders to identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies and improve reporting
accuracy.
Contributes technical expertise to the Institutional Research Committee, supporting collaborative research initiatives using SQL, Python, Excel, Cognos, Tableau, and SSIS.
Supports the management and organization of institutional research documentation and reports using SharePoint to ensure secure access, version control, and efficient dissemination.
Effectively supports Institutional Research operations by contributing to task execution, workload management, and process optimization.
Participates in training, workshops, and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in institutional research, data analytics, and business intelligence tools, including SQL, Python, Excel, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI, and SSIS.
Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
A master's degree in a relevant field such as Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Institutional Research, or Higher Education is preferred.
Experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Cognos; familiarity with predictive modeling, enrollment forecasting, and machine learning applications in higher education.
Experience working with student information systems like Banner, PeopleSoft, or Workday; familiarity with database systems, business intelligence tools, and data warehousing concepts and SharePoint.
Experience in data extraction, reporting automation, and basic predictive analytics within a higher education or similarly complex environment.
Knowledge of higher education reporting processes and compliance requirements (e.g., IPEDS, CBM reports, and accreditation
reporting).
