Job Description
The Operations Research Analyst applies advanced quantitative and analytical methods to support decision-making, policy development, and operational assessments. This role formulates mathematical, statistical, and simulation models to analyze complex systems, risks, and mission performance. The analyst evaluates data, validates models, and communicates actionable insights to senior leaders. Responsibilities include supporting weapons system (WS) operational assessments, worthiness and mission assurance activities, analyzing risks and opportunities, and providing operations research expertise to program offices and leadership.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field (with required college-level math/calculus coursework) or equivalent work experience
10 years of experience in operations research methods, applied mathematics, statistics, and optimization
Experience developing and applying mathematical or simulation models (cost, schedule, logistics, risk, performance)
Data analysis, validation, and model testing experience
Ability to perform predictive and risk-based analysis to support decision-making
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to clearly communicate technical findings in reports and briefings to non-technical audiences
Experience collaborating with senior leaders, program offices, and cross-functional teams Experience supporting weapons system operational assessments or mission assurance/worthiness processes
Experience aggregating and presenting analysis results to senior DoD or Air Force leadership
Familiarity with NC3 systems or mission-critical operational environments
Experience with analytical tools (e.g., MATLAB, R, SAS, SPSS, Minitab)
Experience supporting program offices or command-level decision processes
Ability to serve as a subject-matter expert within a complex stakeholder community
