Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer to support the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) Naval Messaging CB ISEA. The work will be conducted at the Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific (NIWC PAC) San Diego, CA, Old Town Center. The SAIC Team provides a full range of engineering, technical support, management, training, and logistics services in support of the Messaging programs. Support of these systems includes technical support for installations, providing systems and software engineering, cyber security, software development and infrastructure as code, training development and delivery, integration and testing of hardware and software functions, and testing of new baselines and/or new capability of messaging systems.
JOB DUTIES:
- Plan, design, and install security of Naval Messaging systems. Collaborate with system owners to adapt and refine security policy and patching while ensuring that mission systems continue to operate within requirements.
- Perform security scanning of lab systems using the DoD Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) (i.e., Tenable). And provide analysis of scan results to program leadership.
- Maintain security software products hosted in the Naval Messaging lab.
- Train fellow engineering team members and fleet representatives on how to use security software products as part of the Naval Messaging system deployments.
- Develop technical guides and system documentation that defines the deployment process and configuration for Naval Messaging products.
- Participate in the maintenance of messaging systems in the OASIS Lab.
- Perform testing of applications and messaging systems in the OASIS Lab to ensure operational viability with security enhancements.
- Manage the recurring monthly review and upgrade of system security changes as part of the engineering change review process at the Naval Messaging ISEA.
- Candidates will have experience and familiarity with virtualization and Linux/MS environments and possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Years of experience in lieu of degree to be taken under consideration.
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must have a Top Secret Clearance to start
- Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance after start
- Current CompTIA Security+ at a minimum.
- Navy messaging operational and engineering experience.
- Experience implementing cyber security controls on Navy systems (e.g., STIGs, software patches, etc.)
- HBSS installation and administration experience.
- Candidate should have strong computer and networking skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of current applicable military and commercial standards and specifications.
- Experience documenting system installation and maintenance procedures.
- Candidate must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word).
- Excellent Communications Skills are imperative.

- Professional level vendor certifications such as Microsoft or Linux+
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
