Responsibilities You will develop, review, and implement safety policies and curriculum based on higher-level naval instructions (e.g., OPNAVINST 1500.75 series). You will conduct formal inspections, audits, and surveillance of training programs to ensure compliance with safety and instructional standards. You will act as an authoritative consultant and subject matter expert to senior leadership on all matters related to high-risk training safety and program management. You will plan, schedule, and conduct on-site assessments and technical assistance visits. You will conduct inspections on helicopter rope suspension training, military static-line and free-fall parachute operations, close quarters combat training and combatant craft and maritime operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Possessing extensive Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience, experience in SOF-specific equipment and capabilities; Serving as a training and safety manager with direct oversight of multiple high-risk training courses (e.g., live-fire ranges, aviation, explosive ordnance disposal, diving); Applying Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Risk Control System principles to identify and mitigate hazards in a high-risk training environment.
