Summary About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at Fort Meade, Maryland. Responsibilities Provides the point of capture and initial assessment of incoming official taskers that may require response by the Command (and often its external partners) as well as CoS-directed action items. Monitors multiple sources (classified and unclassified) to identify new taskers and action items. Conducts an initial assessment of required response, and briefs the supervisor and other cognizant executive team members as to proposed approach Which regularly requires the solicitation, deconfliction, and integration of inputs from various internal elements, and often requires coordination with external cyberspace partners throughout DoD, the IC and LE/CI communities, and USG In this same manner, as required by the nature of taskers and action items, facilitates the Command's collaboration with external cyberspace partners, Including other DoD elements, the IC and LE/CI communities, and USG agencies, whose inputs are required to provide a complete assessment of issues and generate a complete response. Brings to contributors' attention apparent anomalies and/or deficiencies, based on knowledge of precedents and analytical activity on related taskers Applies skill in data/information collection and analysis, as well as its formatting and presentation, to ensure presentation of inputs in appropriate forms (reports, displays, briefings) And that such presentations fully address the information needs of the originator and are consistent with the Command's branding and quality standards. Assumes personal responsibility for integrating and validating data and analytical results obtained from contributors Applies a high degree of skill, not only in data collection and analysis, but also in its formatting and presentation to ensure resulting reports, displays and briefings Present information and analytical findings in ways that are relevant to the originators' information needs. This includes applying nuanced understanding of the particular cyberspace program priorities of higher echelons and other program participants to assure findings are not only presented accurately As assigned, supports the executive team's presentation of resulting white papers, reports, and briefings to the Commander and higher-echelon cyberspace program authorities by providing back-up analytical support Captures work products in forms that are retrievable from the knowledge base to support future efforts Use of lessons learned to make recommendations for refinement of processes, analytical methodologies, and/or project management strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness with which tasker/action item responses are developed by the team.
