Job Summary:
The Manager of Analytics assists in the development and leads the execution of the cooperative's data and analytics strategy to support reliable, cost-effective, and member-focused electric & fiber service. This role oversees data collection, transformation, analysis, and reporting functions to deliver actionable insights that inform operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving innovation by providing a strategic lens to data & analytics while transforming the D&A function into an innovative, business enabling function that aligns with the goals of the cooperative.
Key Responsibilities:
Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team of data analysts, BI professionals, & low-code application developers.
Set clear performance expectations, goals, and development plans for direct reports.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and support career growth.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous-improvement-oriented team culture.
Drives continuous improvement in data governance & reporting
Serves as a strategic liaison across business units, aligning teams, and helping translate business challenges into data-driven & actionable solutions.
Develop and execute the cooperative's analytics and business intelligence (BI) strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Define, track, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) related to system reliability (e.g., SAIDI/SAIFI), financial performance, member satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities to leverage data to improve the member experience grid performance, outage response, load forecasting, and capital planning.
Transform complex datasets into actionable insights using advanced analytics, modeling, and visualization tools.
Design and maintain dashboards and reports (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for leadership and operational teams.
Lead & support initiatives such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence (A.I), load forecasting, rate analysis, demand response insights, advanced metering, and distributed energy resource analytics.
Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise manner.
Establish and enforce data governance standards to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Oversee data management practices across systems such as CIS, OMS, SCADA, AMI, ERP, and SaaS platforms.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Evaluate, implement, & oversee the use and optimization of innovative technologies to enhance analytic capabilities and efficiency such as ingestion, warehousing & transformation, catalog/metadata management, and visualization technologies.
Ensure scalability and sustainability of analytics infrastructure.
Support development of project and program budgets, active monitoring of actual vs. planned spend, and assess ROI (Return on Innovation).
Define and implement data-driven KPIs and dashboards to monitor health and performance of projects and teams.
Maintains relationships with SaaS vendors to enable continuous innovation on new product features.
Support end-user participation in continuous training of products and services.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires a bachelor's degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, or related field (master's degree is preferred).
5-10 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, A.I, or related field.
2-5 years of experience managing and/or leading analytics teams.
Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python or R)
Experience with data ingestion & pipeline tools (FiveTran, AWS Glue, Matillion, Airbyte or similar)
Experience with data warehousing & transformation tools (AWS S3/Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, or similar)
Experience with data cataloging & metadata management tools. (Qlik, Coalesce, Atlan, or similar)
Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, AWS Quick, or similar).
Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must satisfactorily pass the EMC's employment physical examination and required drug screens
Customer Service & interpersonal skills are essential.
Strong ability to influence cross-functional teams.
The ability to work with colleagues and stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of critical business requirements.
Requires the ability to withstand interruptions to workflow while meeting deadlines.
Must be able to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, resolve problems, follow through, andsimultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met promptly.
Must be able to pick up system functionality quickly and be the go-to person for system issues or questions.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Foundational knowledge of cloud computing and project management concepts.
Experience managing vendor relationships and forecasting budget expenditures.
Must satisfactorily pass the EMS's pre-employment physical examination, criminal background, and drug screen.

General office environment.
Requires sitting at a desk using a computer most of the day.
Occasionally required to move machines, printed paper, and printed material.
Required to provide on-call support.
Must be able to report to work in disaster situations
