Your Impact at SAM
SAM is seeking an experienced Breakline Lead to oversee hydro collection for federal topographic lidar deliverables. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the progress of production assignments, overseeing quality control, and offering guidance to the team on hydro data collection, tailored to project specifications and geographic conditions. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in hydro datasets, GIS, and remote sensing. Lead hydro collection and production efforts for federal lidar deliverables, ensuring adherence to project specifications and standards.
Assign hydro production tasks and track team progress, ensuring that deadlines and quality expectations are met.
Review 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) and 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP) hydro deliverables for correctness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Provide training and guidance to team members on hydro collection procedures, requirements, and expectations.
Assist in bare earth point cloud editing, DEM reviews, and product generation.
What You Bring to SAM
5+ years of experience in GIS/remote sensing, with a focus on lidar data collection and processing.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
Proficient in geospatial software such as ESRI ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, Geocue LP360, Blue Marble Geographics Global Mapper, Bentley Microstation, and Terrasolid suite.
Understanding of collection specifications and current 3DEP Lidar Base Specification (LBS) deliverables.
Understanding of 3D hydrographic elevation conflation processes, and quality control.
Experience with United States Geological Survey (USGS) 3D Elevation Product (3DEP) and United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional)
Topobathymetric lidar production/processing experience a plus.
Experience with United States Geological Survey (USGS) 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP), Elevation-Derived Hydrography (EDH), and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) projects.
