The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Firewall Engineer (Level 3) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in engineering and design within Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and networks. This role requires advanced knowledge in Intrusion Prevention Systems/Intrusion Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), and Firewall technologies. The Firewall Engineer will be responsible for designing, managing, and configuring security appliances to maintain and enhance the security posture of our network.
Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation:
Design, implement, and maintain firewall architecture and security policies in alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
Configure and manage security appliances, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, and VPNs.
Security Posture Management:
Continuously assess and improve the security posture of the network through the deployment of advanced security measures.
Conduct regular reviews and updates of firewall rules and security policies.
Incident Response:
Participate in incident response activities related to firewall and network security incidents.
Analyze security logs and alerts to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with other engineering teams, including network, system, and application teams, to ensure comprehensive security coverage.
Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of firewall configurations, security policies, and procedures.
Prepare and present reports on security posture, incidents, and improvement initiatives to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
BS or BA degree in Engineering, an Engineering Discipline, or in a Technical Discipline is desired.
At least seven (7) years of practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.
Advanced Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced knowledge and understanding of IPS/IDS, VPN, and Firewall technology areas.
Proven ability to design, manage, and configure security appliances.

Pay Range :
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$103,800 - $218,100
