Job Description:
Assumes authority and responsibility for implementation of nursing care as defined in the North Carolina Nurse Practice Act throughout the organization.
Assures North Carolina Board of Nursing licensure and certification requirement are met for all registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants in the organization.
Establishes and develops standards of nursing practice to direct the provision of nursing care throughout the organization.
Provide executive leadership for ancillary clinical departments including the following departments: Diagnostic Imaging, Pharmacy, Cardiopulmonary, Laboratory, Rehabilitation Services, Quality Department, Home Health Services and Oncology Infusion Services.
Participates in planning and decision-making at the executive administrative, executive medical staff and governing board levels.
Contributes to the overall hospital decision-making processes regarding mission, strategic planning, budgets, resources allocation and operational plans and policies.
Provides leadership in planning, promoting, implementing and revising the organizational-wide patient safety programs.
Provides leadership to assure that policies and procedures are developed and implemented, and maintained to promote a safe work environment.
Serves as a liaison between medical staff and hospital to identify and resolve patient care issues and concerns.
Communicates and consults with CMO, Chief of Staff and Service Chiefs to improve patient care.
Participates in medical staff meetings as assigned.
Provides leadership to assure clinical informatics system is operational to support clinical documentation requirements throughout the organization
Provides leadership to the nursing aspect of the oncology program.
Role models customer services at all time, utilizing philosophy and principles of AdventHealth Service Standards.
Provides leadership to achieve and maintain standards according to state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
Develops and implements staffing plans for optimum patient outcomes and utilization of personnel.
Demonstrates effective human resource management within assigned departments to achieve and maintain quality patient care, positive employee relations and efficient use of staff.
Demonstrates effective fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization for the hospital's financial resources.
Develops goals and objectives consistent with AH Hendersonville's mission, vision and strategic plan.
Assesses and evaluates activities and outcomes for assigned departments.
Uses creative problem solving and participative management to achieve quality patient care through staff.
Promotes interdepartmental communication as well as communication across departments to ensure that all necessary information is disseminated throughout the hospital.
Oversees nursing orientation programs.
Assures professional educational programs are developed and implemented to ensure appropriate knowledge and skills are achieved and maintained.
Oversees an effective recruitment and retention program for assigned departments.
Provides counseling for assigned departments.
Assumes organizational authority and responsibility in absence of CEO, COO and CFO.
Takes administrative call as assigned and required.
Assures self-development to assure current knowledge of nursing and hospital administration.
Participates in planning and decision-making at the corporate level by participation in CNO group and assigned committee participation.
Provide strategic oversight and guidance for the facility's patient and workforce safety, ensuring clear goals, effective governance structures, and leadership accountability.
Foster and sustain a facility-wide culture of safety that emphasizes psychological safety, continuous learning from harm and near-miss events, and meaningful engagement of patients, families, and the workforce.

Education:
Master's degree in related field [Required]
