Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the JOINT ACTIVITIES, DIRECTORATE OF PLANS & POLICY, PLANS & FUTURES DIVISION, FORT BRAGG, NC. Responsibilities Serves as a Division Chief and Senior Intelligence Analyst for the Assessments and Future Threats Division (J52), Policy and Plans Directorate (JS) of the Command. Responsible for supervising military, civilian and contractor regional and functional senior Strategic Intelligence Analysts with focus on future threats and developing trends. Plans, prepares, and exercises necessary supervisory authority to accomplish assigned projects within set timeframe or suspense date. Assesses potential unexpected developments that could be encountered and recommends changes in strategy or focus to accomplish tasks to support SOF planners and deploying forces. Serves as the overall network expert responsible for providing the director and commander with specialized threat data on all future regional and network facets. Represents the Command as the Senior Intelligence Analyst during coordination and liaison with counterparts throughout the intelligence Community and other government agencies. AND 3) Experience supervising military, civilian and contractor regional and functional senior Strategic Intelligence Analysts with focus on future threats and developing trends. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS -13). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
