This Cyber Threat Analyst position is responsible for analyzing, identifying, and documenting cybersecurity risks. This role will require a proactive individual with an understanding of core technology and cybersecurity principles along with industry best practices to investigate, remediate and/or escalate for further evaluation.
Responsibilities
Monitoring and analyzing external and internal cyber threats to assess risk.
Analyzing the likelihood that an emerging threat will impact their organization and identify where weaknesses are.
Delivering reports and recommendations to the business to enable the effectiveness of mitigation and remediation efforts.
Providing requirements to influence threat mitigation strategies.
Analyzing internal risk and security controls to identify existing security weaknesses.
Consolidating cyber threat intelligence feeds and sources.
Collaborates with various stakeholders within Cyber Security/Technology departments and standard owners to properly document and communicate security risks
Review and understand Policies, Standards, and Procedures for improved process flows.
Supports threat hunting, participate in tabletop exercises, and assist in Incident Response on a rotational job-duty basis as needed
Stays abreast of global cybersecurity threat trends
Serves as an escalation point, mentor, and trainer for junior analysts
May participate in specials projects
The ideal candidate for this opportunity will possess the following skillset:
Familiarity with cyber threat actors and their TTPs
Intel report writing
SIPRNet account (active)
The Role
Develops, and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment. Studies and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations. Obtains rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies. Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitors access to restricted records and materials. Conducts security education classes and security audits. Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
NNS Apprentice School graduate
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
